Slovenia hosts dozens of food and wine festivals throughout the year, each celebrating local specialties and traditions.
Odprta Kuhna (Open Kitchen) in Ljubljana runs every Friday from March to October, transforming Pogacarjev trg into an open-air food market with dozens of vendors. The Lasko Beer and Flowers Festival, Maribor Wine Festival, and Goriska Brda Cherry Festival are summer highlights.
Autumn brings wine harvest celebrations (trgatev) across all three wine regions, along with chestnut festivals, mushroom fairs, and the famous Martin's Day (Martinovanje) when new wine is officially "baptized."
